SuperOdds has been appointed Official Betting Agency of the forthcoming Rugby World Cup 2003. SuperOdds UK Ltd, which recently launched a fully licensed UK website and telephone betting service was appointed by Rugby World Cup Ltd in association with the sport’s premier event.
SuperOdds is owned and operated by SportOdds, Australia’s largest and most reputable privately owned betting company. SportOdds was founded in 1995 by Con and Peter Kafataris. The father and son team obtained the first sports betting licence to be issued in New South Wales in 1997 moving the operation to Sydney.
Initially concentrating on Australian sports and horse racing the company entered the global sports betting market during 1999 with the launch of the SportOdds website in Australia. August 2003 saw the launch of a UK website and the establishment of a British HQ.
Under the exclusive deal with the Rugby World Cup Ltd, SuperOdds will receive exposure on the official Rugby World Cup 2003 website (www.rugbyworldcup.com) providing an exclusive on-site betting facility. SuperOdds will also provide the official odds to the Rugby World Cup media centre and all official tournament publications.
SuperOdds will also receive several marketing benefits as part of the deal. It is expected that upwards of £500,000,000 will be wagered globally on this year’s largest International sporting event.
