Dunlop, the World’s leading squash brand, has announced that International Squash Marketing Manager Paul Walters is to leave the company to pursue new international challenges within the sport.
Group Marketing Director Graeme Derby announced: ‘During his six years with DSG, Paul has worked tirelessly to develop our brands as the pre-eminent force in squash. Dunlop has re-established itself as the sport’s market leader, with our rackets and balls used by more and more players, from the elite professionals through to club players and beginners, and our growth and consistent results have been evidence of his enthusiasm and motivation.
‘On behalf of DSG, I would like to thank him for his work and wish him every success in his new venture,’ said Derby.
On announcing his resignation to set up an international marketing and promotional company in squash, with offices initially in the UK before expanding into the USA and Australia, Walters explained: ‘I have a number of new ideas I want to follow up, and having achieved the targets I set myself with Dunlop, I am now looking forward to formulating new global initiatives in squash.
‘This new phase of my life will also enable me to spend more time – both socially and in a working capacity – with my partner Sarah Fitz-Gerald, the five-times World Champion who has already demonstrated that there is success to be gained from a change in direction.
‘I am very proud of what I have achieved with Dunlop and I hope I will be able to retain strong links with the company in the future,’ Walters added.
