Following his plane accident last week and his second place finish in last weekendÆs Spanish Grand Prix, West McLaren Mercedes driver David Coulthard underwent a detailed medical inspection at the Princess Grace Hospital in London on Tuesday 9th May.

The inspection established that David has a bruised right chest wall and that the eighth, ninth and tenth ribs on his right side are cracked.

FIA Chief Medical Officer, Professor Sid Watkins said after the examination: æI am absolutely confident that David will race at the European Grand Prix and that these findings will not influence his performance.Æ

Ron Dennis, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, TAG McLaren Group said: æWe have no doubt that David will be racing at the N³rburgring. He is not participating in our test at Jerez in Spain this week to allow time for his injuries to heal. Æ
