LADBROKES, the largest bookmaker in the world, has signed an agreement with Benfield Sports International (BSI), rights holders of the FIM Speedway Grand Prix Series (SGP) to be title sponsors of the forthcoming FIM Czech Republic Speedway Grand Prix.

The event, which is the sixth round of the nine round world championship series, will be held at the Marketa Stadium, Prague, on 6 September 2003 and will be officially known as the FIM Ladbrokes Czech Republic Speedway Grand Prix.

‘We are continually striving to increase awareness of the Ladbrokes.com brand throughout Scandinavia and with the Speedway Grand Prix Series’ strong presence across this region we see it as the ideal vehicle to infiltrate the market.’ explains Anna Frölander, Marketing Manager, Ladbrokes, Sweden.

John Postlethwaite, Chief Executive, Benfield Sports International added: ‘With just eight points separating the top four riders and only three rounds to go, the world championship race is generating massive media and television interest across Scandinavia and Europe. We’re delighted Ladbrokes has recognised the popularity and influence the Series has across their key markets and used the Czech Republic round to take full advantage of this.’
