Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs has signed a deal to star in a TV ad for ITV Digital. The ad, will break nationwide on Monday, 22 October.
ITV Digital struck gold with its two recent advertising campaigns. The acclaimed Al and Monkey brand campaign generated widespread interest and awareness for the transition from ONdigital to ITV Digital, while Nick Hancock helped launch the ITV Sport Channel.
Ryan Giggs, said: ‘I saw the script, it made me laugh, so I thought I’d have a go. This ad is going to be a real talking point. If people get a laugh out of it and remember the ad, I’ve done my job. I’m not looking forward to grief from the lads on the training ground, though!’
Jeremy Dale, Marketing Director for ITV Digital, said: ‘ITV Digital advertising has struck a chord with some great and memorable ads. We have set a high standard and this ad meets the mark. Ryan Giggs is an inspired choice to highlight that ITV Digital offers more live football than Sky. Giggs was a great sport on the day. I don’t want to give the game away but, he really entered into the spirit of the ad.’
