Ever since announcing the second International Sports Security Summit would take place in Lausanne in October, our team have listened carefully to the stakeholders in the sports security sector with whom we have been in regular contact since the highly successful inaugural event in 2004.
Each day we learned of individuals and companies eager to share the knowledge of some of the world’s leading experts in this field but bitterly disappointed that the dates and venue made it impossible for them to attend.
The consistent message was that London was the location of choice and that early 2006 would be the optimum time.
As our primary concern is to deliver an event, which meets the requirements of the sector in every possible respect, we listened carefully and acted.
Consequently the second International Sports Security Summit will now move from Lausanne and return to the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London on January 19-20, 2006.
Peter Ryan, security consultant to the IOC and the keynote speaker at the Summit, has pledged his continued support for the event and it is anticipated that the move will allow an even wider range of expert speakers to be assembled to compliment those on the original programme.
Significantly, the move will optimise the number of delegates able to attend as well as creating significantly greater exhibition space.
