FIBA announced today that it has renewed its agreement with the Paris based Photo Department of Agence France Presse. The original agreement was signed in October 2000, with AFP providing digital photos of every single game of the FIBA SuproLeague, and storing them on their central server in Paris.

The new agreement stretches to coverage of FIBA’s international competitions, primarily the 9 Zone Championships that take place this summer in Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania and the World Championships for Young Men and Junior Women.

FIBA General Secretary Borislav Stankovic commented, ‘The contract with AFP regarding the FIBA SuproLeague proved to be a huge success and it was logical to extend the agreement to cover our international competitions. We were provided with high quality photos in an easily accessible format. Not only do we now have a superb photo archive, but we can offer this service to all our national federations.’

All photos can be accessed from the AFP Imageforum at www.imageforum.par.afp.com. The photos are also available to AFP subscribers.
