IEC in Sports is delighted to announce that it has renewed its agreement with the Mercedes Cup Tennis Tournament. The event, which takes place from 12th to 18th July 2005, has been played at the impressive Weissenhof Tennis Club just outside Stuttgart, Germany, for the last 26 years. Under the terms of the agreement, IEC will handle international distribution of the event worldwide outside of Germany. IEC’s contract with the tournament now extends through 2005 and the company has been involved in the distribution of the event for several years.
“IEC is pleased to add yet another high profile event to our existing portfolio of ATP Tournaments. We will once again be looking to conclude agreements with leading networks around the world who will look to add this impressive event to their summer schedules”, comments Anders Björkman, Director or Television Properties at IEC in Sports. “Other companies were clearly keen to represent the rights to the tournament but IEC’s expertise in distribution and existing relationship with the Tournament helped us in our successful bid for these rights” added Björkman.
IEC in Sports also represents a number of other tennis events in Germany, namely the Arag World Team Cup and Gerry Weber Open (Halle) as well as a large number of other ATP events making the company the industry’s largest distributor of tennis.
