Hugo Boss, the international fashion and lifestyle group, and McLaren are pleased to announce a five-year extension of their Partnership. The 2001 Season marks the 20th year together for Boss and McLaren and the extension, signed today, makes it the longest ever sponsor/team partnership in the history of international sport.
Ron Dennis, Chairman and CEO of the TAG McLaren Group said: ‘I’m very proud of our partnership with Boss. It shows commitment and dedication – values which are synonymous with Boss and McLaren. There has always been a great synergy between us as we share the passionate desire to be the best in our respective fields. Underlying the commercial relationship is a strong friendship and mutual respect and it gives me great pleasure that our agreement has been extended for a further five years.’
Werner Baldessarini, CEO of Hugo Boss shared Ron Dennis’ enthusiasm: ‘After 20 years together, both Boss and McLaren understand our respective goals and objectives and both companies want to continuously seek excellence in every aspect of business. The media coverage and lifestyle which Formula One and McLaren attract has significantly contributed to developing Boss’ global presence and are an excellent medium for maintaining our image and profile.’
‘Consistent with the growth of Hugo Boss, McLaren has not only provided a continuing strong branding presence on the team but also facilitated a package of prominent circuit branding at the United States Grand Prix,’ continued Baldessarini.
During Boss’ 20 years’ association with McLaren, the team has claimed nine Drivers’ Formula One World Championships (Niki Lauda: 84; Alain Prost: 85, 86, 89; Ayrton Senna: 88, 90, 91; Mika Hakkinen: 98, 99) and seven Constructors’ Formula One World Championships (84, 85, 88, 89, 90, 91, 98).
The Boss logo will continue to appear on the West McLaren Mercedes Formula One cars adjacent to the drivers’ names and on drivers’ overalls, helmets and team personnel.
