The 2000 Conference Meetings were held in Geneva from February 25 to 28, with meetings of the Commissions, Panels, Working Groups and the FIM Management Council. Road Racing Rules – If, during practice or race, a Technical Steward finds that a machine is defective and might constitute a danger to other riders, he must notify the International Jury, whose duty will be to exclude such a machine from the practice or the race itself. – The black flag and the black flag with an orange disc can only be shown following a unanimous decision of the international Jury. – The stop & go procedure can only be imposed to a rider or a team (Endurance) following a decision of the International Jury. – For all the riders who are taking part in the current Championship event for the first time, a compulsory briefing will be held at 5.00 p.m. on the day preceding the first practice session day. The Observer shall then write the rider’s number and the offence committed on the reverse of the card. At the end of the day, all cards must be submitted to the Jury, who will study the cards and issue any penalties for the competition in progress as well as recording offenders for further action. Further action may be recommended for serious offences or repeat offenders. Recommended penalties: one offence during the competition: CHF 50 + 5 points, two offences: CHF 100 + 5 points, three offences: exclusion. FIM Individual Junior Trial Cup: only riders less than 20 years old or who will be 20 years old during the year of the event, and who have not finished in the top 15 of the final classification in the Individual World Championship for Trial in the three previous years will be accepted. Trial des Nations: the starting order for group A will be the reverse order of the preceding year’s classification. Track Racing The World Long Track Championship Final round scheduled in Marianske Lazne-CZE on July 23 next, has been cancelled and replaced by a Final round in J³bek-GER on the same date. The Individual Speedway World Championship Intercontinental Final scheduled in Holsted-DEN will take place on August 12 (instead of 13). Technical Superbike (Art. 59.01.3) : a manufacturer is permitted to re-homologate a carburation instrument. All other requirements of this rule must be respected.
