The International Hockey Federation (FIH) today officially announced the pools for the XXVIII Olympics, held in Athens this August.

The pools are:

Netherlands

South Africa **

The pools have been composed in compliance with the FIH Tournament Regulations, which are available on www.WorldHockey.org.

The Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) will hear the appeal by the Hellenic Hockey Federation in relation to its participation in the Games, in Lausanne on 19 May 2004. Once the outcome of this matter is known, the position of South Africa in the men’s competition will be finalised.

As soon as the match schedule for the women’s competition is confirmed, there will be a joint press release issued by ATHOC and FIH. However, the match schedule for the men’s competition will not be finalised until the decision of CAS is known.
