ACE, already Britain’s biggest selling tennis magazine, is looking to boost its news stand and subscription sales with its first TV advertising campaign.

The TV adverts are part of the significant investment in the monthly news-stand magazine by its publishers Tennis GB, which is owned by the Lawn Tennis Association.

The 30-second TV advert features all the latest young tennis stars, such as World No.1 Roger Federer, the Wimbledon and newly-crowned Australian Open Champion, and is designed to promote Ace’s new look, which includes more big-star interviews, more tournament coverage and more coaching tips for improving players.

The ads, which were launched during the Australian Open, will continue to be featured exclusively on leading sports television channel, British Eurosport, in breaks during all their 2004 tennis coverage.

Tennis is a key part of the programming on British Eurosport, which is available on Sky Digital, NTL Home and Telewest Broadband and has viewing figures in excess of 7 million. British Eurosport shows tennis all year round, and owns the rights to show three of the four world Grand Slam events: the Australian Open, The French Open and the US Open. It also broadcasts men’s and women’s tournaments from the ATP and WTA tours respectively.

Publisher Andy Ford said: ‘This magazine is targeted at the 1.2million people who play tennis regularly, and the millions that follow tennis on TV in the UK. Ace’s new look and exciting content have already increased our readership in 2004, and the forecasts are looking promising for the rest of the year.’
