BT Broadcast Services announced today that Hughes Global Services, Inc., has contracted with BT to provide international transmission services for the US government’s International Broadcasting Bureau (IBB). Specifically, Hughes will lease 16 MHz of BT’s full-time capacity on the EUTELSAT HotBird 3 satellite to provide transmission capacity to the IBB for programming distribution in Europe. IBB will provide its own earth station services in Europe to transmit both video and data Jon Romm, general manager, BT North America Broadcast Services, commented:
