Eurosport is starting the new year with a new sports channel, launching on Monday January 10.

British Eurosport 2, which is an evolution of Eurosportnews, will combine the best of LIVE Sport, new magazine-style programmes and the very latest sports news.

The new channel will be complementary to British Eurosport and provide viewers with more LIVE sports action from around the world including motorsports, tennis, winter sports, football and extreme sports among others.

Alongside the live action British Eurosport 2 will feature breaking sports news, interviews, informative magazine-style programmes and LIVE results 24-hours a day.

Initially Eurosport 2 will be available in four languages (English, Polish, Turkish and Greek) in 13 million households across 35 European countries.

Laurent-Eric Le Lay, Eurosport Managing Director of Broadcast said: ‘The launch of Eurosport 2 will provide additional broadcasts of Eurosport’s premier TV rights so that viewers have a wider offer on both channels. Eurosport 2 will therefore benefit from Eurosport’s strong rights portfolio and will transmit other live events, which take place at the same time as those broadcast on Eurosport. Thanks to the know-how of Eurosport, we are
convinced that Eurosport 2 will attract a lot of viewers and will be a real success.’
