Rob Bonnet, sports presenter and reporter for the BBC, has agreed to be the Overall Chair for the Global Sport Forum to be held in the Athenaeum Inter-Continental Hotel, Athens, on 12th & 13th November.
Rob has worked for the BBC since 1977 as both a producer and a presenter on BBC Radio Sport, BBC One, BBC World Service, BBC Radio 5 Live, and writes a weekly column for BBC News Online.
Not surprisingly he has an immense amount of knowledge about the international sporting world and has been to numerous sporting events, including three World Cups, two Commonwealth Games, and one Olympic Games.
He currently presents the main sporting bulletins throughout the BBC Breakfast programme and has just returned from Japan and South Korea where he was covering the FIFA World Cup for the Corporation.
Rob was delighted to be asked to chair the first-ever Global Sport Forum and said, ‘I’m especially excited to be involved in a project in which the major sporting issues of the year will be under discussion in such a high-powered forum. It’ll be a very interesting challenge for me.’
The Global Sport Forum will provide delegates with the ideal platform to discuss all the current issues within the international sporting world and is already attracting a very high calibre of attendee.
As Sue Phillips, Managing Director at Stefi UK, commented, ‘the very fact that the Global Sport Forum is drawing such influential sports profiles like Rob Bonnet illustrates what a need there is for such an event where the emphasis is on frank and open discussion.’
