Following the agreement signed in December 2000 with International Sports Broadcasting (ISB), and in accordance with the provisions therein, the host broadcasting company of the Athens 2004 Games was founded in Athens, under the formal name of Athens Olympic Broadcasting S.A. (Athinaiki Olympiaki Radiotileoptiki A.E.) and the trademark of AOB.
AOB is to function as the Olympic Broadcasting Organisation for the 2004 Olympics, for the production of international broadcasts, the organisation and management of the International Broadcasting Centre (IBC), and the provision of all necessary services to the Games’ broadcasting rights-holders.
AOB’s Board of Directors held its first meeting today, chaired by AOB President and CEO Mr. Manolo Romero. Mr Yiannis Exarchos is AOB’s Vice-President, Mr. Spyros Capralos is also Vice-President, and Messrs. Steven Fox, Henry Levine, Mark Parkman and Vassilios Kotsovilis are Members of the Board.
