The Asian PGA has officially joined the International Federation of PGA Tours as its sixth member. This became effective at the start of the New Year. The Federation, comprised of the European Tour, PGA Tour, Australasian Tour, Southern African Tour, Japan Golf Tour and now the Asian PGA, is the organising and sanctioning body of the World Golf Championships. Players who compete in the Asian PGA Tour will now be awarded official World Golf Ranking points.
