Andy Jacobs, Head of Development at Avalon TV, is to join the newly established production development team at TWI as Senior Development Producer.

TWI is the UK’s largest independent production company creating nearly 6000 hours of television annually. Andy Jacobs’ credits include being Series Producer, Fantasy Football League for BBC 2 [54 episodes and 4 videos]; Series Producer, Fantasy World Cup for ITV Network [16 live shows]; Series Producer Jenny Eclair’s Private Function for Channel 5; Series Producer Rookies for Channel 4. He also currently presents and writes 2×3 hourly Football chat show for Talk Sport. A former Editor of FHM magazine Andy Jacobs has a wide journalistic background.

He said today; ‘I have greatly enjoyed my time at Avalon but I am delighted to be joining TWI a company with great ambition and scope to match its considerable resources.’

The Production Development team at TWI is led by Senior Vice-President Alastair Waddington who in the last two years has spearheaded TWI’s drive to build on its high class sports programming roots with productions like the multi-award winning The Second World War in Colour and the current ITV success Britain at Water in Colour. Alastair Waddington said today; ‘ I am delighted to welcome Andy Jacobs to the TWI team. He brings a wealth of programming and journalistic experience which will be of enormous help in growing the TWI brand.’

Andy Jacobs takes up his new position immediately and joins a continuously strengthening TWI development team which also includes Niki Hinman, Senior Development Producer, Ms Hinman is a former Head of Programmes at Antelope and Editor at NOW, and Stuart Watts, TWI’s Development Executive. Stuart Watts’ credits include directing Shop Till You Drop for Channel 4, Summer Holiday and Holiday Memories for BBC1, he recently directed the Whitney Houston Millennium concert in Hong Kong which was screened world-wide.
