World Snooker have signed up two more sponsors for the PowerHouse UK Championship, which is currently taking place at the York Barbican Centre.
Electrical retailer PowerHouse are the title sponsors of the £615,000 world ranking tournament. Now Globet.com, a global internet betting company, and Scandinavian finance house Nordea have completed the line-up.
Both companies are aiming to increase brand awareness in the United Kingdom by taking perimeter advertising space during the 15-day event, which is being covered exclusively by BBC Sport from December 7 to 15.
Globet have also become World Snooker’s on-line betting partner for the PowerHouse UK Championship and are advertising their latest odds on the World Snooker website.
Globet International Sports Betting Ltd was founded in 1995 with a staff of six people. The company now has more than 40 employees with 28 based at their London office and 15 odds compilers spread across Europe.
Globet have around 30,000 active customers and are set to announce a profit of £5million from a turnover of £50million at the end of the year.

Richard Relton, World Snooker’s chief executive, said: ‘These new partnerships demonstrate that snooker, with viewing figures second only to Premiership football, is becoming an increasingly attractive sport to sponsors.’
