A new two-year deal will see coverage of the prestigious MotoGP World Championship screened on BBC television in the United Kingdom, with live coverage of the British round in Donington, and the final round in Valencia, Spain. BBC Sport’s bikes presenter, Suzi Perry will present coverage of the championship, beginning on April 6 in Suzuka, Japan. The BBC’s expert duo of Steve Parrish and Charlie Cox will provide commentary for the live rounds at Donington and Valencia.

Same-day coverage of the 16 round championship will be broadcast on BBC TWO. Philip Bernie, executive editor of Grandstand said: ‘We’re delighted to have acquired the rights to what promises to be a thrilling season, with the likes of Valentino Rossi competing. Viewers will have an opportunity to continue following the progress of Troy Bayliss and Colin Edwards, who have moved up from World Superbikes this year. This deal confirms our commitment to Motorsport and makes BBC television the place to watch bikes on the box.’
