Real Sports South East Asia, through its local Indonesian branch Real Sports Indonesia is proud to announce today the agreement with Real Madrid to launch and develop a new Real Madrid Football Academy in Bali, Indonesia, This is the first Real Madrid Football Academy in Asia, and will serve as a reference for Real Madrid´s future expansion in Asia.
The Academy will offer youngsters between the ages of 9 and 18 from Indonesia and the rest of Asia-Pacific, the opportunity to enrol for professional football training under the guidance of International Real Madrid coaching staff while continuing their top level academic studies.
The Academy will have 5 star training grounds, classrooms and accommodation facilities to cater for up to 200 full time students. The majority of students are expected to enrol for the full-time annual residential programme, although non-residential courses and shorter summer camps will also be offered. Real Madrid will provide full time coaching staff, state of the art training methodology as well as the support of its management team in the promotion of the Academy.
The 3 Hectare custom-built facility (currently under design) will accommodate 2 full-size soccer fields, swimming pool, changing room, showers, gym, medical facility, physiotherapy centres and clubhouse as well as accommodation, office space, conference halls and meeting spaces. The full annual program of the Academy is currently scheduled to open in August 2008.
In appreciation of the importance of such projects to the future of Bali and Indonesia as a major worldwide tourism destination, the Government of Indonesia through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Education, has offered the project its full support and endorsement.
Beyond the immediate benefits for Real Madrid and the local community, this project provides a valuable platform for increased national cooperation between Spain and Indonesia in the areas of tourism, sports, culture and education.
All students – whether they enrol privately or are supported by scholarship partners – will receive the same sporting and academic education, quality meals and accommodation. In order to achieve this goal, the Academy will allocate a significant number of the available places each academic year to students selected by the Academy’s talent scouts in association with scholarship sponsors, with the aim of awarding places to the most talented, but least advantaged potential students.
Involving and caring about the community of Indonesia in the Academy is an essential part of the project. It aims to address the lack of opportunity in rural areas, restore the current sports infrastructure and promote sport, literacy, environment and education awareness in the community.
Real Madrid Football Academy will support the development of young football talent in Asia, increase awareness and presence of Real Madrid brand and image across Asia-Pacific region, and use the passion that sport, especially football, inspires to effect positive social change in Bali and the rest of Indonesia.
