Benfield Sports International (BSI) has announced Denmark’s leading industrial clothing supplier, Kansas, as the official sponsor of the Danish Team for the 2003 FIM Speedway World Cup (SWC).
The week long event takes place from the 3 – 9th August in Denmark and will see Team Denmark – who were they surprise packet of last year’s event when they won a silver medal – compete against the world’s top 12 teams for the Ove Fundin trophy.
Mette Vogensen, Marketing Manager, Kansas, explained the decision behind their sponsorship: ‘Over the past year we have supported Team Denmark with all their clothing requirements and this was the natural step to increase awareness of our on-going relationship with the team.
‘The increased media interest in world championship speedway over the past year in Denmark has been incredible and we realised from our sponsorship at the Danish Grand Prix back in June how well this association works for us. We are very proud to be a Danish company backing our countrymen as they go for gold in their homeland.’
John Postlethwaite, Chief Executive, Benfield Sports International commented: ‘We are delighted Kansas has seen the benefits of getting behind world championship speedway. There is no doubt the World Cup ignites the imagination of the competing nations and we are looking forward to a great week of exciting speedway.’
