Winston Cup venue Richmond International Raceway has been bought by the International Speedway Corporation in a deal worth about ú135m. ISC president Jim France announced the 0.75mile RIR oval was now part of the corporation’s holdings at a purchase price of $215m. Richmond, commonly known as ‘The Action Track’, is the only three-quarter-mile track hosting NASCAR Winston Cup Series, Busch Series and Craftsman Truck Series races. The track will host the NASCAR Winston Cup Series on May 6 and September 9.
