The International Rugby Board has announced that Women’s Rugby World Cup 2006, which kicks off on 31 August in Edmonton, Canada, will boast an unprecedented level of broadcast coverage. The Tournament, involving the top 12 Women’s national teams, will be shown on more television stations than ever before, highlighting the growing appeal of the Women’s Game.

Women’s Rugby World Cup host broadcaster, The Score, will be providing extensive coverage of all the key matches in the Tournament, including the opening match, the semi-finals and the final at the Commonwealth Stadium.

Broadcasters from North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, the Middle East and Africa will be covering the Tournament, which consists of 30 matches spread across five match days. A number of broadcasters will also be showing extensive highlights programmes.

Watch every match LIVE

For the first time the IRB will be streaming every match live on http://www.rwcwomens.com/. Supporters can watch individual games of their choice live for £2.50 or follow a specific team through all three pool games live for £6.50. A Tournament pass, covering all 30 matches, costs £49.99. Comprehensive Media Service

The IRB is providing media organisations with comprehensive coverage of the Tournament. After each match a report, full match statistics sheet, MP3 audio interviews and two rights-free high quality photographs will be available from the official Tournament website. Match Tickets

Three match venues will host Women’s Rugby World Cup matches, with Ellerslie Rugby Park and St. Albert hosting the pool matches and Round 4 positional play offs with Edmonton’s impressive Commonwealth Stadium hosting the finals on 17 September.
