Dartboard manufacturer Winmau will serve as the official equipment provider of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) having sealed a five-year sponsorship agreement with the organization.
This will see Winmau’s Blade 6 Triple Core dartboard be used at all PDC events until 2027, including the European Tour, Players Championships, Challenge Tour, Development Tour, and Women’s Series.
The PDC logo will feature on the dartboard.
Winmau will also become a partner to the Challenge Tour, Development Tour, and World Youth Championship.
The deal kicks off at this week’s Premier League season opener, which will take place at Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, UK, on February 3.
It broadens Winmau’s association with darts, with the brand serving as a partner to the PDC-affiliated Junior Darts Corporation, and a sponsor to multiple players, including Michael van Gerwen, Joe Cullen, Steve Beaton, and Simon Whitlock.
Winmau takes over the sponsorship role from Unicorn, which announced last week that it would not renew its 25-year-long partnership with the PDC.
Eddie Hearn, chairman at the PDC, said: "This record-breaking deal is a massive moment for the PDC, Winmau, and the sport of darts.
"Winmau is a brand known across the world and it's exciting that their products, led by the Blade 6 Triple Core dartboard, will be used by the PDC in the coming years and showcased globally in our biggest events.”
Vincent Bluck, managing director at Winmau, added: "The Professional Darts Corporation are the undisputed leaders in the global distribution of world-class darts, by delivering performances and moments not thought possible even a decade ago.
"They have captured millions of new fans and players for the game that we all love and we're absolutely delighted to be embarking on this new partnership with the superb team at the PDC.”
Winmau joins the organization’s extensive sponsorship portfolio, which includes Fox Sports, Betfred, Just Eat, Cazoo, Ladbrokes, DAZN, and Toyo Tires.
