Naomi Osaka, the global tennis star, has signed a two-year endorsement deal with Japanese electronics company Panasonic.
The deal will see Japanese player Osaka, the winner of four grand slam singles titles, serve as a brand ambassador to Panasonic, and collaborate with the company on a variety of activations.
Osaka has an extensive sponsorship portfolio which includes the likes of Nike, Beats, Mastercard, Louis Vuitton, Tag Heuer, Workday, Nissin Foods, Nissan, Nippon Airways, Hyperice and Sweetgreen.
Panasonic believes its brand aligns with the values of the player.
Osaka recently withdrew from the French Open citing mental health reasons amid a dispute over her decision not to partake in press conferences at the event, and has since announced she will not be playing in the upcoming Wimbledon tournament.
However, it is understood she will compete at the Tokyo Olympics, which are scheduled for 23 July to 8 August.
