The Los Angeles Dodgers, of Major League Baseball (MLB), have announced a multi-year agreement with Japanese retailer Daiso.
As part of the deal, Daiso will have prime placement in the media backdrop for player interviews, as well as having signage behind home plate at Dodger Stadium, and the Dodgers’ Spring Training home at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona. Additionally, the Dodgers will celebrate Daiso as a presenting partner of the Shohei Ohtani Bobblehead promotional giveaway on August 28.
Daiso is the fourth Japanese sponsor secured by the Dodgers this month after recently partnering with airline All Nippon Airways, Toyo Tires, and Kowa Company.
The presence of Japanese star Ohtani in the team has significantly increased the franchise's commercial appeal in Japan.
Lon Rosen, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of the Los Angeles Dodgers, has said: “Daiso and the Dodgers form a great team, each raising the other’s exposure and stature.”
Daniela Davis, vice president of marketing for Daiso US, added: “As Daiso continues to expand its global presence, this sponsorship represents an incredible opportunity to connect with fans and support the beloved Dodgers team."
