The National Basketball League (NBL), Australia’s top-tier men's competition, has expanded its sponsorship deal with Mitsubishi Motors Australia, the local arm of the Japanese car manufacturer.

Through the new agreement, the brand will serve as the new naming rights partner of the NBL1 competition from the 2024 season onwards.

Mitsubishi has been elevated from major partner status, after returning to the basketball scene earlier this year under a partnership with the NBL.

NBL chief executive David Stevenson has now said: “Having Mitsubishi making an even bigger commitment to our competition and the sport of basketball is a massive vote of confidence in the league.

“Last season NBL1’s digital and social platforms reached more than 66 million impressions, with more than 41 million minutes of game vision watched. This showcases the ever-growing platform NBL1 has become.”

Hungry Jack’s, the Australian fast food chain, is the title sponsor of the top-tier NBL.

The 2024 Mitsubishi Motors NBL1 season will tip off in March next year.
