Sports travel company BCD Sports and Unipublic, the organizer of La Vuelta, one of road cycling’s three annual ‘grand tours’, have signed a new partnership agreement.
The deal makes BCD’s Ávoris Corporación Empresarial, its agency specializing in sports travel, the race’s new sponsor and official travel agency.
BCD Sports also becomes the official travel agency of La Vuelta for the next four years.
As part of this agreement, Halcón Viajes, a network of agencies that also belong to Ávoris, will sponsor the race and have visibility in broadcast, on the ground, in media areas, Parque Vuelta, caravan, departure, and hospitality areas.
During the three-week competition, BCD Sports will manage the accommodation and travel for the 3,000 people that accompany the event In Spain and Portugal in 2024, with the Grand Departure held in Lisbon, Oeiras, and Cascais.
Through the deal, BCD Sports has added to its Spanish sporting clientele, with its other partnerships including soccer’s FC Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Valencia CF, the Royal Spanish Football Federation, and the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation.
The start of La Vuelta 2024 will be the fifth from a country outside of Spain in the race’s 89-year history. Other than Lisbon, the race has begun in Assen, the Netherlands (2009), Nîmes, France (2017), and Utrecht, the Netherlands (2022).
The 79th edition of La Vuelta will start on August 17 and will finish, as is custom, in Madrid, on September 8.
La Vuelta is sponsored by Cofidis, the French financial services firm and prominent cycling sponsor, as well as Carrefour, Loterias y Apuestas del Estado, Skoda, NTT, Tissot, Europcar, and Yamaha.
