International basketball’s governing body FIBA has extended its relationship with Enlio, the provider of basketball court surfaces, until 2034.
That Chinese brand will carry on as an official surface supplier to FIBA for the 3×3 World Tour and the 3×3 World Cup for the next decade, through the deal extension.
The partnership renewal follows 3×3 basketball being one of the most popular sports at the recent 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. For that event, Enlio supplied the court.
The last extension between FIBA and Enlio came in April 2022, while the original deal was unveiled in 2019.
Andreas Zagklis, secretary at FIBA, has now said: “We are excited to continue working with Enlio to create an optimal competition environment as we strive to take our sport to even greater heights."
Li Yu, Enlio Sports’ chief executive, added: “We are proud that our surface was chosen for 3×3 basketball at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, supporting FIBA in setting new standards for the most thrilling urban sport. We look forward to introducing innovations and providing players with the ultimate experience as they begin their journey with the 3×3 World Cup in 2025.”
Next year’s 3×3 FIBA World Cup will take place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, in late June.
Other FIBA commercial partners, meanwhile, include Ganten, Molten, Nike, TCL, and Tissot.
