ESL Gaming, the esports organisation, has sealed a sponsorship deal with cryptocurrency exchange platform Coinbase.
The deal will see Coinbase serve as the official crypto exchange partner for ESL events in 2021 and 2022, starting with this year's IEM Cologne.
The other events include the ESL Pro Tour circuit for Counter Strike: Global Offensive, StarCraft II and Warcraft III.
As part of the partnership, the two entities will collaborate to create integrations across broadcasts, social media and digital media, as well as other content.
ESL has recently sealed partnerships with Monster Energy, Shopify and DHL.
Eli McCarrel, director of global brand partnerships at ESL, said: “This is a partnership between two like-minded companies at the forefront of technology and innovation. We look forward to bringing Coinbase into the ESL family and integrating them into future ESL initiatives. This is an industry-shifting partnership and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.”
