German car manufacturer BMW has been unveiled as the new title partner of the Australian PGA Championship, one of the country's two major golf events.
The tournament is set to take place at the Royal Queensland Golf Club in Brisbane from November 21 to 24 this year, at the host venue of the 2032 Olympic Games golf competition.
The BMW Australian PGA Championship will also be the opening tournament of the 2024-25 DP World Tour season.
The deal is BMW’s first major golf naming rights partnership in the Southern Hemisphere and builds on its existing relationship as the official automotive partner of the PGA, Golf Australia, and the WPGA.
The Australian PGA Championship adds to the car manufacturer’s portfolio of DP World Tour naming rights deals, being the third BMW tournament on the circuit, joining the ongoing BMW International Open in Munich, and the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, near London, United Kingdom, which runs from September 17 to 22.
BMW is also the title partner of the PGA Tour’s playoff tournament, named the BMW Championship, in the US, and the BMW Ladies Championship on the LPGA Tour in South Korea.
