Denmark is a leading badminton nation with a passionate fan base, and we expect fantastic support from the audience. With Denmark's solid experience in hosting major championships, as we saw at the 2023 World Championships in Copenhagen, we are confident that this will be an enormously successful event.”
This decision brings top-tier badminton action to Danish soil, where Europe’s and the world’s best players will compete for gold, silver, and bronze.

By GlobalData"We are thrilled about the awarding of the two championships, with the European Championships next year followed by an even bigger event the Thomas & Uber Cup in 2026," said Kristian Pihl, president of Badminton Denmark.
"These events align perfectly with our long-term goals to bring more badminton championships to Denmark. After hosting the World Championships in Copenhagen last summer and our annual VICTOR DENMARK OPEN in Odense, it's great to showcase Horsens as the host city."
Horsens, a city previously renowned for its mega concerts and cultural events, is set to host these badminton championships for the first time.
Mayor Peter Sørensen expressed his enthusiasm: "It's a tremendous honor for Horsens to host these two major badminton championships. We are excited to welcome thousands of guests from around the world, which will bring vibrant life and activity to our community."
The Thomas & Uber Cup, only the fourth time in its 75-year history to be held in Europe, will follow the individual European Championships. The event was last awarded to Denmark in 2020 but was rescheduled to 2021 due to COVID-19.
"This is quite a feather in our cap," stated Lars Lundov, Director of Sport Event Denmark. "Badminton Denmark has extensive experience in organizing large international badminton championships, and we look forward to contributing our expertise."
Ticket sales for European Championships will commence in week 42 of this year, during VICTOR DENMARK OPEN.
