The Professional Fighters League (PFL), the US-based mixed martial arts (MMA) series, has promoted James Frewin to managing director of its international operations.
He will now be tasked with overseeing all international media rights, international strategy, and expanding the PFL’s array of international leagues.
Frewin has been with the PFL for three years as senior vice-president of international.
He was credited with playing a key role in the launch of the organization’s first international league, PFL Europe.
PFL Europe was launched in partnership with sports streaming service DAZN towards the back end of 2022 as a regional feeder competition for the PFL.
Additionally, Frewin has built PFL's international media rights business “while defining international strategy with a particular focus on global expansion," the league has said.

The PFL has made several executive appointments in recent months, including Frank Huckabone as senior vice president of global partnerships, Michael Chioditti as senior vice president of new business, and Emilio Revelo as senior vice president of media strategy and distribution.
