Former World Rugby and Manchester United executive Tom Hill has been named as the new commercial director of the Ineos Grenadiers UCI WorldTour pro-cycling team.

In the role, Hill has said he will focus on creating and developing “an innovative, forward-thinking commercial strategy that maximizes the commercial potential of cycling’s growth.”

He will report to the team’s chief executive John Allert and Jean-Claude-Blanc, chief executive of the wider Ineos Sport group.

Hill spent almost five years as chief commercial officer of World Rugby. He joined the governing body after nine years with Manchester United where he served in several sponsorship roles for the English Premier League soccer giants.

He also worked at England’s Rugby Football Union for nearly six years.

Most recently, Hill served as acting chief executive of Global Venue Services, the advisory, investment, and services business formed in 2020 by UK horse racing executives Simon Bazalgette and Paul Fisher.

The Ineos Grenadiers team is a member of the Ineos Sport Group – alongside Manchester United, OGC Nice, Lausanne FC (soccer), INEOS Britannia (sailing), the New Zealand All Blacks (rugby union), Mercedes-AMG Formula One team (motor racing), and NN Running Team (Eliud Kipchoge).
