Arsenal, of English men's soccer’s Premier League, have announced Richard Garlick will step up to the position of managing director ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Garlick, 47, who has been the London club’s director of football operations since May 2021, will move into his new role when current Arsenal managing director Vinai Venkatesham leaves at the end of the ongoing 2023-24 season.

Garlick worked at the Premier League as director of football before joining Arsenal, while between 2010 and 2018 he held several roles at now-second-tier West Bromwich Albion.
Josh Kroenke, the co-chair at Arsenal, has said: “Richard is recognized and respected across the industry for his vast experience, and we were delighted when he joined us back in 2021 to take our football strategy to the next level.
“He has made an enormous impact since joining us, working closely with our Sporting Director, Edu, on the development and implementation of the club’s football strategy. He has developed strong relationships right across the club and wider industry.
Garlick added: "Since joining Arsenal in 2021, I’ve had the privilege to be involved with almost every aspect of this incredible club. I’m excited to take us forward in my new role as we move into the next phase of delivering the vision of our owners, Stan [Kroenke] and Josh.

US sports franchise owner Stan Kroenke has been in full control of Arsenal (as the only shareholder) since 2018.
Venkatesham’s departure, meanwhile, will bring to an end his long stint at the club.
First joining in 2004, he was named managing director in 2018 and took on the chief executive role in 2020 after long-serving Ivan Gazidis departed to join Italian giants AC Milan.
Arsenal currently sit third in the 2023-24 Premier League table and have also reached the knockout stages of the prestigious pan-Europa UEFA Champions League.
Earlier today, they were ranked 10th in the Deloitte Money Football League table for 2022-23, in terms of revenue generated ($920.6 million). However, five other Premier League sides – Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Chelsea – finished above them.
