Whisper, the UK-based sports production firm, has been appointed to deliver the host broadcast feed for the Caribbean Premier League, the region’s top-tier domestic T20 cricket tournament.

The company will produce 41 matches live in total, including coverage of all 34 games in the CPL, running from August 16 to September 24, across five Caribbean islands and seven games from the women’s equivalent WCPL, taking place between August 31 and September 10.

The live feeds will be accompanied by daily digital highlight shows, analysis, and digital content.

CPL chief executive Pete Russell said: “We are very pleased to be working with Whisper as we deliver a world-class tournament for fans in stadiums and for those watching across the globe. We know that Whisper’s fantastic team will help us to showcase the amazing cricketing talent in the Caribbean as well as showing off how the region is a must-visit location.”

The new contract adds to Whisper's growing cricket portfolio, which includes producing all West Indies and New Zealand international cricket, as well as peak-time highlights of England matches for the BBC, including this year’s Ashes.

The Whisper team was also behind the production of the cricket documentary about England’s Ben Stokes: Phoenix from the Ashes.

Whisper managing director Mark Cole said: “We are delighted to partner with the team at the CPL and hugely excited about showcasing the amazing cricket and full stadiums to audiences around the world.

“Our team of cricket specialists have great experience in delivering cricket in the Caribbean and will continue to evolve the coverage.”

Earlier this year, Whisper was appointed to deliver the host broadcast feed of the highly anticipated boxing fight between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury on February 26. It was announced today (July 31) that Tommy Fury will face YouTuber KSI in a bout at Manchester’s AO Arena on October 14.

Whisper also holds the contract to produce coverage of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games for Channel 4, the UK rightsholder, in a deal struck last year.

In addition, the company produces broadcast coverage of the action from motor racing’s prestigious Formula 1 and W Series, as well as top-tier international cricket and rugby, while in January it struck a two-year deal with the UK’s Wimbledon championships.

In March, Republic Bank, the largest such institution in the English-speaking Caribbean, was elevated to become the title sponsor of the CPL in a three-year deal.

Motorcycle manufacturer Hero was the CPL’s previous title sponsor between 2020 and 2022.
