The Wayne-Sanderson Farms US poultry production company has extended its title sponsorship deal with the annual PGA Tour event held in Mississippi, US, under the Sanderson Farms Championship name.
The extension will see the event continue under its current name through the 2025 edition, and comes as an about-turn on the brand’s previous announcement that this year’s event (which has taken place over the last few days), would mark the final tournament to be title-sponsored by Wayne-Sanderson Farms.
Now, however, the brand has “reaffirmed its commitment to the championship, ensuring continuity and stability for the following year.”
Steve Jent, executive director, of the Sanderson Farms Championship, has said: "This extension by Wayne-Sanderson Farms is a testament to their enduring support for our tournament and the community we serve. It gives us more room to strategize and secure an exciting future for the Sanderson Farms Championship.”
The 2024 event took place between October 3 and 6, with Taiwan’s Kevin Yu winning and thereby securing $1.36 million in prize money.
The event has been title sponsored by Wayne-Sanderson Farms since 2013.
The PGA Tour as a whole announced an expanded commercial deal with beverage giant Coca-Cola in late August.
