Mixed martial arts promotion Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has renewed its exclusive global apparel partnership with combat sportswear specialist Venum.
Through the extension, Venum will continue as UFC’s exclusive global outfitting partner until 2029. The original deal between the two parties came in 2020 when Venum succeeded Reebok as UFC’s apparel partner, and an extension was then struck in August 2022.
IMG, the sports marketing agency heavyweight also owned by UFC owner Endeavor, brokered the deal between the two parties, having done the same for the previous Venum-UFC tie-ups.
The extension will see UFC and the French brand continue to work on developing fight week gear used by athletes “during training and for official activities such as weigh-ins and open workouts.”
The pair will also continue to collaborate on the exclusive Fight Night Collection, including the fight kits worn by participants in the Octagon, and the apparel worn during fighters’ walkouts.
In addition, the brand will continue providing UFC Performance Institute staff worldwide with outfitting, including at facilities in Las Vegas, Shanghai, and Mexico City.
From this point on, UFC and Venum “plan to release two new special collections each year.”
Tracey Bleczinski, UFC’s senior vice president for global consumer products, said: “Venum has been an amazing partner these past few years and we are thrilled to continue our relationship with them through the end of the decade. The key to the success of this partnership is that Venum understands the unique needs of the fighters competing in the Octagon.”
Aside from its tie-up with UFC, last November Venum struck a multi-year deal with US boxing promoter Top Rank.
The deal involves a co-branded collection featuring men's tracksuits, boxing shorts, performance shirts, and boxing footwear.
