European soccer’s governing body UEFA has gone to market in Greece with media rights covering its main men’s club competitions between 2024-25 and 2026-27.
Rights are on the market for the 2024-25, 2025-26, and 2026-27 seasons of the top-tier UEFA Champions League (UCL), second-tier Europa League, and third-tier Europa Conference League (to be renamed the Conference League from next season).
The sales are being handled by Team Marketing, UEFA’s partner agency for media and commercial rights sales across its club competitions. All inquiries should, therefore, be directed to info@team.ch, with a deadline for submissions of December 5.
During the current 2021-22 to 2023-24 cycle, UCL games are covered live in Greece by a combination of pay-TV’s Cosmote and free-to-air broadcaster Mega TV.
The invitation to submit offers officially went live on October 31.
The media rights process in Greece comes after UEFA took the same rights to market in Belgium and Portugal in late September (with the Portugal rights having since been allocated).
Contracts have already been signed across the continent in major markets such as the UK, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland.
Meanwhile, Australia and the US are among the markets where deals have been agreed outside of Europe.
From the 2024-25 season, the UCL will take on a new single-league format, with the competition expanding from 32 to 36 teams, and incorporating 189 matches instead of the current 125.
