European soccer’s governing body UEFA has launched a tender process covering match ball and apparel rights specifically for its women’s competitions across the 2025-30 cycle.
The competitions and events covered by the cycle include five editions of the clubs' UEFA Women’s Champions League, the Women’s European Championship national teams tournament in 2029, and various age-group tournament editions.
The tender process is set to go live on April 8, with a deadline for bids of May 17 at 12:00, Central European Time. Interested parties should contact peter.dennis@uefa.ch. Dennis is a senior licensing manager at UEFA.
The category packages involved in the tender, UEFA has said, “will comprise the right to produce and market both the official match ball and / or sports equipment and branded apparel (including footwear) for the relevant competitions.”
UEFA launched a general tender for global commercial rights covering its 2025-26 to 2029-30 women’s soccer cycle in late January, but has now begun a more specific search.
UEFA’s women’s national team competitions currently have their media rights sold by the CAA Eleven agency, while Two Circles handles sponsorship rights to all UEFA women's competitions.
The list of brands currently commercially associated with UEFA’s women’s soccer program, meanwhile, includes Heineken, Just Eat, Lay’s, Visa, Amazon, adidas, EA, Hublot, and PlayStation.
Adidas is the current ball and apparel supplier for UEFA’s array of women’s competitions during the 2021-25 cycle.
In December, it was unveiled that UEFA will expand the UWCL and add a second-tier tournament for the 2025-26 season.
Under sweeping changes approved by UEFA’s executive committee at the governing body’s meeting in Hamburg, Germany, the competition will expand to 18 teams and change to a league format, with clubs playing three home and away matches each before moving onto a knockout phase.
