UEFA, European soccer’s governing body, has invited bids covering the mobile handset category of its 2024-27 club competitions sponsorship packages.

The organization has set a deadline for formal offers of 12pm (CET) on May 31. Submissions should be sent via email to uccpartners@team.ch.

Oppo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, is presently UEFA's sponsor in the mobile handset category for the 2021-24 commercial cycle, coming to an end in the next few days.

The brand was signed up in July 2022, with its deal only covering the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons and the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, the Futsal Champions League finals, and the UEFA Youth League finals.

UEFA revealed that as part of its continued sales process, it has received one additional offer for a Champions League package.

The continental body began its hunt for sponsors covering the 2024-27 commercial cycle in May 2022, alongside its club competitions partner agency, Team Marketing.

For the current commercial cycle, UEFA has eight global Champions League sponsors in place, including PlayStation, Walkers/Lays, FedEx, Mastercard, Turkish Airlines, and Oppo.

The Europa League and Conference League's current sponsors, meanwhile, include Heineken 0.0, Hankook, Enterprise, Swissquote, Just Eat, and Bwin.

In March, UEFA invited bids in the cryptocurrency exchange sector for sponsorship packages across the Champions League, second-tier Europa League, and third-tier Europa Conference League. This followed a call for bids from the financial sector in February 2023.

Meanwhile, in February this year, international online food delivery firm Just Eat renewed its sponsorship of all three UEFA men’s club competitions for 2024-27.

The agreement also includes sponsorship rights for the UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Youth League, and UEFA Futsal Champions League.

UEFA’s most recent sponsorship deal for its club competitions came last week as Korean manufacturer Hankook Tire renewed its agreement covering the Europa League and Conference League.

Hankook joins the array of brands already signed up as commercial partners of the Europa League and Conference League for the 2024-27 cycle alongside Engelbert Strauss, Decathlon, Just Eat, and Swissquote.

For the Champions League, UEFA already has deals in place for the 2024-27 cycle with PepsiCo and Heineken.
