TrillerTV, the streaming platform formerly known as Fite, has snapped up exclusive rights to Dutch soccer’s top-tier Eredivisie in the UK and Ireland for the next two years.

As part of the agreement, 52 matches will be streamed live on the TrillerTV+ service for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.

The broadcast deal will also expand to include France and Australia for the 2024-25 season, streaming 136 live matches.

The tie-up was brokered by IMG, the sports and entertainment giant that sells the league's international rights.

TrillerTV’s coverage begins today (February 16), featuring English commentary and a highlights show.

Adam Bigwood, vice president of subscriptions at TrillerTV, said: “We are delighted to offer live Eredivisie matches exclusively to our TrillerTV+ subscribers. This strategic acquisition further underscores our commitment to delivering diverse and premium sports content to our global audience.”

Eredivisie joins recent TrillerTV+ soccer additions, which includes a deal last month for Asia’s AFC Champions League club competition. The platform also holds rights to Portugal’s Primeira Liga and the AFC Asian Cup national teams tournament.

TrillerTV, initially a combat sports platform, has expanded into other sports recently and showed the last Rugby League World Cup across several markets.

Fite was originally founded in 2015 and the platform has since grown to 8 million registered users worldwide.

Earlier this month, Eredivisie secured a broadcast deal in Japan with the FujiTV network to end its blackout in the country.

Before that, the league finalized a long-term domestic media rights renewal with Disney-owned international sports broadcaster ESPN until 2030.

The Dutch top-tier features several British players, including England international Jordan Henderson who recently signed for Ajax.

IMG has sold global media rights to the Eredivisie in all international regions, excluding the Netherlands, for the past 20 years. Its current three-year deal runs to the end of 2024-25.

The agency’s IMG Arena betting arm also manages the media rights to third parties including online platforms.
