TMRW Sports, the tech-focused sports, media, and entertainment venture headed by golf icons Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, has announced a new partnership with artificial intelligence technology and scheduling platform Fastbreak.ai.
Through the new deal, Fastbreak.ai will manage the schedule of TMRW’s tech-infused golf league TGL, which will debut in January 2025, crafting “ai-optimized” schedules that it says will strike a balance between broadcast viewership, player availability, and in-person fan experience.
The 2025 TGL season will begin on January 7, with the schedule already released - for future editions this will be handled by Fastbreak.ai.
Speaking on the deal, Fastbreak.ai chief executive John Stewart stated: “This partnership demonstrates the versatility of our platform and its ability to deliver customized solutions for leagues of all sizes, including the dynamic and fast-paced environment of TGL and future modern media approaches to sports by TMRW Sports.”
Fastbreak.ai chief scheduling officer Rick Stone added: “TGL presented by SoFi presents unique scheduling challenges, from coordinating live broadcasts to managing player logistics.
“Our AI-driven platform is designed to handle these complexities, ensuring that TGL can focus on delivering a world-class experience to its fans.”
In addition to the partnership, TMRW Sports will make an investment in Fastbreak.ai that it says will help secure the partnership for the future and aid the AI firm in bettering its offering.
Other major North American sports leagues such as basketball’s NBA and ice hockey’s NHL have also invested in Fastbreak.ai, as have venture capital firm Greycroft, and retired American football legend Larry Fitzgerald.
Joey Brander, TMRW Sports vice president for corporate development, said of the investment: “At TMRW Sports, we’re committed to innovation and utilizing best-in-class technologies to move our business forward. Partnering with Fastbreak.ai reflects that with their AI-powered scheduling platform creating the most efficient and engaging schedules for leagues.
“We’re pleased to be investing in Fastbreak.ai alongside premier leagues like the NBA and NHL and look forward to working together to add value to the company.”
