Staylive, the Swedish streaming monetization platform owned by Stockholm-based Spring Media, has partnered with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) to distribute its cycling and motorcycling events in more global markets.
Under the agreement, Staylive users will have access to WBD Sports-owned and promoted events such as the UCI Mountain Bike World Series, the FIM Endurance World Championship, the FIM Speedway Grand Prix, and the UCI Track Champions League.
The events will be accessible on Staylive through pay-per-view and subscription packages in markets independent of exclusive WBD platforms and broadcast partnerships.
As well as live action, additional content including highlights and associated shoulder programming will be made available.
The UCI Mountain Bike World Series is also shown on WBD platforms such as Eurosport, the pan-European sports broadcaster, and the Max and Discovery+ streaming services, as well as across several local and national broadcasters.
The second season of the competition begins today in Brazil.
The series made its debut last year, as the new home of the UCI's various Mountain Bike World Cup competitions.
It brings together the cross-country Olympic, cross-country short track, cross-country marathon, downhill, enduro, and e-enduro disciplines.
Matt Parker, chief commercial officer of Staylive, said: "Partnering with WBD Sports for this historic season of cycling and motorcycling events is a testament to Staylive's technical capabilities and commercial expertise.
“We are proud to work with and alongside WBD Sports as they secure new and innovative ways to maximize content distribution and reach. This collaboration highlights our ability to meet the high technical demands of streaming world-class sports events while enhancing the fan experience across the globe.”
Trojan Paillot, senior vice president of sports rights acquisitions and syndications at WBD Sports Europe, added: “Through this partnership, we are not just distributing sports content, we are creating a more accessible and immersive experience for fans, no matter where they are.
“This is a prime example of how we’re increasing our ability to meet the evolving needs of our audience and to bring them closer to the sports they love.”
Founded in 2013, Staylive claims to deliver over 1,500 live sports events per week. The service has partnerships with several governing bodies, federations, leagues, and sporting clubs worldwide.
