International sports marketing firm Sportfive is launching a new athlete consulting and representation service called ProjectFive, through a collaboration with leading German soccer agent Marc Kosicke.

This significant move, announced today, represents Sportfive moving further towards the talent representation side of sports business.

ProjectFive will act as a standalone offering, and is being led by Kosicke - who counts iconic German soccer manager Jurgen Klopp amongst his foremost clients. Kosicke’s new role is technically that of president, athletes and personalities, Europe.

The agency has said there is a growing demand for “personalized, top-tier guidance, career management, and strategic brand-building for sports stars and high-profile individuals” across European sport.

The services that Sportfive and ProjectFive will offer as a collaborative effort, include brand development, media strategy, commercialization, philanthropy and social impact strategy, and post-career planning.

Currently, Sportfive’s main talent representation focus is primarily aimed at the world of golf, covered by the agency’s global golf athlete business. Last July, the agency grew that side of its operations by acquiring UK-based golf talent representation firm Alpha Sports.

ProjectFive is now launching from offices in Germany (Hamburg and Kassel) as well as in Spain. Sportfive has said that it will extend “across selected European Sportfive locations and beyond soon.”

Focusing for the moment on European soccer in terms of clients, ProjectFive counts industry veterans such as Mike Jäggle, Markus Däggelmann, Alexander Roth, and Steffen Friedrich, amongst its staff.

Kosicke has said: “With ProjectFive, we aim to empower athletes, coaches and personalities with the tools and strategies they need to achieve success both during their athletic careers and beyond. We’re excited to bring our global expertise and network in athlete representation to an elite group of clients and also expand our capabilities through the vast experience and network of Sportfive in commercialization across all sports rightsholders.”

Stefan Felsing, Sportfive’s chief executive, added: “This new business venture is an exciting step in our vision to become the most progressive and respective partner in sports. We aim to offer all-round services for athletes, coaches, and personalities in the field of career management and commercialization to cater to the evolving needs of those today.”
