The Singapore Airlines national flag carrier has signed a deal to maintain its title sponsorship of the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix through the 2028 edition.

The airline has already held that designation for 11 years, since 2014. The last deal renewal came in May 2022, running through last year’s edition (won by McLaren’s Lando Norris in late September) which was the 15th iteration of the race on the F1 calendar.

The Marina Bay Street Circuit race, which this year will take place across the weekend of October 3 to 5, will continue to be called the Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix through 2028.

The Marina Bay circuit has an F1 hosting contract stretching through to 2028, with that deal last extended in January 2022.

The track first hosted F1 action in 2008, and over the years has become known as one of the toughest races for drivers, in a physical endurance sense, on the series’ calendar.

In terms of F1 races and their title sponsors, cruise operator MSC Cruises will once again put its name to a trio of Grands Prix - in Austria, the US, and Brazil - next season, through a deal unveiled in early January.

Last season, the cruise operator - an F1 global partner - did the same for the races in Japan, Belgium, and Emilia-Romagna in Northern Italy.

Singapore Airlines, meanwhile, also has sponsorship deals in place across cycling and rugby union (with English top-tier side Harlequins).
