All-electric off-road motorsport series Extreme E has announced a new broadcast partnership with Australian public broadcaster SBS.

The deal will allow Extreme E to be broadcast in Australia through both free-to-air and digital platforms for the remainder of the 2024 season.

The agreement covers live broadcasts, highlights, and exclusive Extreme E racing content.

In addition, Extreme E will be available on the broadcaster’s streaming platform, SBS On Demand.

Ali Russell, managing director of Extreme E, said the deal is “crucial for our reach and engagement in Australia.”

In May, Extreme E extended its broadcast partnership with Swedish commercial broadcaster TV4 in Sweden and Finland for the 2024 campaign.

The series has tied up several media rights renewals in recent months to maintain its broadcast presence, most notably with Warner Bros. Discovery-owned pan-European sports broadcaster Eurosport, and free-to-air network Canal 13 in Chile.

The 2024 Extreme E season will resume next month with the next four rounds taking place in Sardinia, Italy between September 14 to 22.

The campaign will conclude with a double-header in Phoenix, Arizona in the US on November 23 and 24.
