Saran Media Group, the prominent Turkish media operation, has acquired rights in the country to UEFA national team soccer tournaments for the 2024-2028 cycle.
The agreement with European soccer’s governing body covers the 2024-25 and 2026-27 editions of the UEFA Nations League, the Nations League Finals in 2025 and 2027, the European qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and 2028 European Championship and the latter tournament, and international friendly matches.
The agreement entails Saran holding the exclusive live, delayed, highlights, and clips rights across all existing platforms in the country, including on TV, online, and mobile within Turkiye.
The UEFA agreement adds to major rights deals Saran has struck with several major European leagues in recent months.
The media group last week unveiled two exclusive multi-year media rights deals covering English soccer’s Premier League (EPL) and knockout FA Cup competition, across a range of Eastern European and Central Asian territories.
The EPL tie-up, covering the countries of Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, is an extension and runs from 2025-26 through 2027-28.
In early May, Saran agreed a five-year media rights management deal with French soccer's LFP body. Through the deal, Saran will exclusively manage the media rights of the top-tier Ligue 1, second-tier Ligue 2, and the Trophee des Champions, in 18 Central Asian and Eastern European markets. The agreement runs from the beginning of 2024-25 through 2028-29.
