EHF Marketing, the commercial arm of the European Handball Federation (EHF) governing body, has announced a new partnership with Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI).
The agreement makes RBI an official partner of the EHF Champions League and a premium partner of the EHF Champions League Women, making the bank the first partner of both the men’s and women’s editions of the EHF’s premium club competition.
As part of the deal, Raiffeisen will receive exposure through floor sticker advertising, LED boards, and brand activations across all 264 matches throughout the season, including the EHF final four in Cologne, Germany, and the women's EHF final four in Budapest, Hungary.
Nikolaus Zottl, marketing and strategy lead at RBI, said: “We chose to enter a multi-year partnership with the EHF Champions League after a thorough analysis of our opportunities – and when we took the decision, it was clear from the start to sponsor the men’s and the women’s competition.
“The EHF Champions League offers us year-round visibility, presence in our key markets such as Hungary, Romania, Croatia, and Poland, and in particular we share the same philosophy.”
The deal comes in the week the 2024-25 European club handball season gets underway, with Portugal’s Maritimo da Madeira Andebol/SAD playing Sweden’s Ystads IF HF on September 6 in the opener.
Earlier this week, the EHF strengthened its partnership with international sports and media agency Infront by utilizing its Stream Engine platform for the provision of the revamped EHFTV OTT streaming service.
All Champions League and European Championships live matches, as well as one match per round of the women’s Champions League and the qualifying rounds for the Euros, will feature live commentary on EHFTV.
